About Filipe

I am a licensed professional counsellor with extensive life experience in managing stress, parenting, and navigating grief and loss. Alongside my professional work, I have spent years supporting others through volunteering. I am passionate about the power of human connection and creating calm, meaningful dialogue in my practice, whilst assisting you build skills to cope with life’s ups and downs.

As therapist, I offer an open, kind space where you can be your authentic self and welcome to express your thoughts, emotions, and feelings.

My goal is to assist you navigating difficult times while creating a calm path forward. By empowering you on your strengths and capabilities, these will aim to bring you back to the life you have planned for.

Our sessions can be In-person in my location in Sydney CBD, or by phone or video call if you prefer to remain in the comfort of your home.

My approach to counselling is respectful, warm and compassionate. My style of therapy works across multiple techniques either on their own or multiple combined and always personalised to your specific needs and goals. 

Fil’s personal story

My counselling journey began many years ago through life’s experiences and growing self-awareness. As I learned to navigate my own challenges, I felt a strong desire to use that understanding to support others. I’m passionate about helping clients strengthen their self-care, approach life’s challenges with openness, and find growth through their experiences. 

After more than two decades working in the engineering field, I understand stress, pressure, and the challenges that come from environments where communication can break down. My call to counselling came from a desire to offer serenity — a space for genuine connection, open communication, and the opportunity to create new perspectives on life.

In this process, meditation has quietly become an anchor in my life, supporting me through each stage of my journey. I began with guided practices in 2020, gradually exploring mantra meditation, and in 2024 I had the privilege of attending a 10-day Vipassana retreat. Each step helped me cultivate a calm, daily rhythm and a foundation that I return in the flow of everyday life.
